Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease

The day that we got back from the valley and Blythe, Jett slept most of the day. I just figured he was tired from all our travels. The next day he was really and so then we thought he was teething. Wednesday he had a really high fever (103). It made for a long night. Thursday he woke up with this rash on his shoulder. We just thought maybe it was a little heat rash or a teething rash. Friday morning it was a little worse and by Friday afternoon it was awful. I took him to the Dr. and she confirmed it was hand, foot and mouth disease. She said its really common at the beginning of every summer and is getting worse every year. Who knows how or where he got it, but it was sad! These pics are all from my phone because I forgot my camera in Show Low.

After the rash healed we went to girls camp the following week. It was still on his body but getting better by the day. But when we got home I realized his feet and hands were peeling. We talked to Dr. Gough at a baseball game and he said Jett had athletes foot. Are you kidding me? This was crazy! In the mornings Jett would pick his toes and hand me the pieces of skin and say "Dis, Dis, Dis" or he would say "Uh Oh!" and try to put it back on his toe. It was the cutest thing! He is like his Mom when it comes to picking. He would pick at his toes for 10-15 minutes at a time!
